About her

Dancer, actress, choreographer, and filmmaker Winnie Mu explores the pool of subconscious thoughts, emotions, and dreams that lives inside us. She shapes her art using the beauty of dance movement, film, and seeds of her cultural background to bring wordless emotions into visual narratives.

At the age of two, Winnie began her training in ballet at Dance Theater International in San Jose, California, soon expanding to Chinese classical and folk dance styles. Her choreographic work finds its home in a fusion of ballet, Chinese dance, and contemporary styles, featured in her creations for various studios, showcases, and competitions.

In 2018, she moved to Manhattan, New York to begin her education for a BFA in dance theater at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts, where studied ballet, modern, jazz, tap, broadway styles, contemporary, tumbling and acro, and more. With a passion for performance, Winnie also excelled in Musical Theater and Stage Acting, being featured in numerous showcases as set by Nic Thompson, Cynthia Murray Davis, Jim Elliot, and more.

She brought this passion to Los Angeles in 2021, where continues to expand her work in filmmaking and photography. Pulling from her experience in ballet, contemporary, and Chinese dance, her work is distinguished by the unconventional intermingling of movement, sound, and imagery, pushing the boundaries of visual normalcy. She strives to create art that inspires the heart and subconscious mind.
